In seeking shamanic healing, choose a practitioner with whom you feel comfortable. Be open about your needs and interests. If shamanic healing is new to you, it may seem strange. Be open to its possibilities, without crossing any boundaries that leave you feeling uncomfortable.
Practitioners will have different approaches to healing and different ways of working. Expect a clear explanation of what will be done for you and what your experiences might include. You need to feel free to voice concerns, ask questions, share experiences, and express emotions.
There may be times when your shamanic healer may not be able to do certain kinds of work for you. Please respect this limitation without seeing it as a personal judgment in any way. All shamans work only with the support of their allies; if at any time that support is not given, the work cannot proceed.
